Processing (2016) is a short film I made during a very rocky and tough time of my life. I was in film school, loving the work I was doing, when sort of suddenly, my family was pulled apart. My parents divorced and it was a rather nasty, sad event.
I couldn't help but project the pain I felt into my art. I came up with a premise: A relationship that progresses from bad to worse. Emotional pain manifesting itself physically. A couple that, despite their love for each other, went too far in the end.
The result was Processing (2016). My friends Carolina Cast and Francisco Quintero helped me bring this vision to life. It's still painful to watch, but I'm proud that I took my experience and made it into something tangible; something others can relate to.
